금강경 영어 원문 (Diamond Sutra)
저는 불교 신자는 아니지만, 종교에 관심을 가지게 되면서, 자연스럽게 불교도 접하게 되었는데, 불교는 어디에도 부딪히지 않는.. 자연스럽고 편안한 가르침인 것 같아요.
모든 경전이 훌륭하겠지만, 금강경은 특히 밝은 가르침의 경전이라고 들었습니다..
저도 뭐라도 딱히 표현을 하긴 어렵지만, 금강경을 읽다 보면, 어두웠던 마음이 조금은 맑아지는 것 같고, 흐릿했던 마음이 한층 명쾌해지는 느낌이 들어요 :)
제가 접한 금강경은, 한자음으로 되어 있는 것과, 한글 풀이본, 그리고 영역판인 데, 뭣도 몰랐던 저는 처음에 한자 경전이 원전이라고 생각했었어요 (^^)
자료를 찾아보니 원전의 제목은 वज्रच्छेदिकाप्रज्ञापारमितासूत्र, 산스크리트어랍니다.
이 산스크리트어 뜻은 'vajracchedikā- prajñāpārami tā-sūtra'로 '(일체의 고착 관념을) 금강석처럼 자른다' 라는 뜻이라고 합니다...
(prajñāpārami tā는 반야바라밀이라고 음사합니다)
금강경 (금강반야바라밀경)
한자 경전의 제목은 金剛般若波羅蜜多經 (축약형은 金剛經)
한글 경전의 제목은 금강반야바라밀경 (축약형은 금강경)
산스크리트어로 쓰여진 경전은 본 적이 없어서 모르겠고^^, 한자로 된 경전은 뜻이 너무 어렵고요, 한글 풀이 경전은 한자보다 훨씬 이해가 쉽지만, 그래도 불교 신자가 아니면 잘 모르는 용어가 종종 나오고요
반면, 영역된 금강경은 오히려 조금 읽기에 수월한 느낌이네요, 각 언어의 특징 때문에 그럴까요? 아님 편역자에 따른 차이일까요?
아무튼 경전을 자주 읽는 분들은 영어로 된 경전을 보며 공부하시는 분이 많으실 것 같아, 영역된 금강경을 가져와 봤어요.
